Corentin Louis
This collection contains figures and movies showing the ExPRES radio source occultations during the Galileo spacecraft Jovian icy moon flybys. This collection supplements: Cecconi et al. (2021) Jovian Auroral Radio Source Occultation Modeling and Application to the JUICE Science Mission Planning. Planet. Space Sci., 209, 105334.

Data products
Most of the targeted Galileo flybys of Io, Ganymede, Europa and Callisto have been processed. Two Europa flybys have been excluded: E15 (no spacecraft location data) and E18 (no Galileo PWS data). For each flyby, the ExPRES (Louis et al. 2019) code was used to model the occultation of the Jovian hectometric and decametric radio sources. The details of the study and the description of the processing pipeline, is described in Cecconi et al. (2021).
Cosmographia data (Cosmographia configuration, `pov’ and `top’ movies)
Description
The repository contains a set of directories (one per studied Galileo flyby, with its name). For each flyby, a directory (named after the flyby name) contains 2 subdirectories:
cosmo/: the Cosmographia files.
expres/: ExPRES files.
The detailed files are:
cosmo/catalog/cosmo_expres_GLL_*.json: Cosmographia catalog file, containing visible radio sources location, as modelled by ExPRES;
cosmo/scripts/GLL_*_pov.py: Cosmographia script for preparing cosmo_expres_GLL_*_pov.m4v;
cosmo/scripts/GLL_*_top.py: Cosmographia script for preparing cosmo_expres_GLL_*_top.m4;
expres/Full_Galileo_*_expres.json: ExPRES simulation configuration file (Jupiter auroral and Io-controlled radio sources);
expres/WGC_StateVector_*.csv: Ephemeris data file (extracted from WebGeoCalc);
expres/expres_gll_jupiter_*.cdf: ExPRES simulation run file (Jupiter auroral and Io-controlled radio sources);
expres/Full_Galileo_*_expres.png: Galileo PWS data plot, with modelled ExPRES occultation.
