JUNO-Ground-Radio / Sharing Data

JUNO-Ground-Radio data will be shared using the VESPA infrastructure. It is based on IVOA standards such as TAP (Table Access protocol), with a specific implementation adapted to Planetary Sciences developed in the frame of the Europlanet-RI [1] and EPN2020-RI [2] projects. The interoperable layer on the data provider side is managed by DaCHS (Data Center Helper Suite), a software framework interface developed and maintained by the German Astronomical Virtual Observatory (GAVO), in Heidelberg.

Each data service is registered in an IVOA registry (catalog of data services with proper description), which is itself replicated. The system is thus not centralized and is more robust. Searching and accessing data is easy thanks to the VESPA portal. The time line tool is also using the same services to get start and stop times of the observations.

Data Provider system

Each data provider sets up a data distribution server and a DaCHS framework, following instructions provided by the PADC team. The architecture of the data provider services are shown on Figure 1. Additional support is available for setting up the various services on the same public front end (such as using reverse proxy features).
